On February 5, 2022, in the framework of the Erasmus + Jean Monnet project – “Advancing European values and standards in Georgian schools”, a methodological manual for public school principals and teachers was presented at European University.

This methodological guide was developed in the summer of 2021 on the basis of a policy papers based on the results of a field research conducted under the same project and the relevant recommendations. It offers school principals and teachers a methodology consisting of theoretical and practical material on teaching and, in general, on advancing in school life those European values and standards that, according to the research results, have proved particularly problematic.

It should be noted that the electronic version of the methodological manual had already been presented to a in a tripartite consultation format in early December 2022, although its printed version was only published in January 2022. Accordingly, the project team took advantage of the opportunity and, prior to the planned trainings for principals and teachers, introduced the manual to the on-site beneficiaries, distributed physical copies and provided information about it to the general public via television.

After the presentation of the methodological manual, the training sessions for the for the principals and teachers of Tbilisi public schools began.

We were introduced to a textbook that teaches relevant methods for disseminating European values and standards, and the practical value of this textbook and further training is for us to introduce this teaching in schools,” one of the beneficiaries of the project, a teacher at Tbilisi Public School # 180, Nino Khotenashvili, told reporters.
