EU-GS

On April 7-8, 2022 an online seminar was held for ethnically Azeri pupils of the beneficiary schools within the framework of the EU co-funded project “Advancing European values and standards in Georgian schools” (EU GS).

The two-day seminar was attended by 13 ethnically Azerbaijani pupils from Tbilisi #73, Rustavi #18 and New Dioknisi (Marneuli municipality) public schools altogether. Project trainers provided the audience with the information on the school assessment system and democratic institutions in a highly interactive manner.

The first day of the training was dedicated to the discussion about the school evaluation system and it was led by the project trainer, Professor Lela Abdushelishvili. On the second day of the training, the project trainer, Professor Nino Gvaramadze, raised students’ awareness about democratic institutions. It is important to note that Professors Abdushelishvili and Gvaramadze are the authors of the respective study modules of the methodological manual produced within the same project.

The topics of the trainings aroused great interest among the attendees. The students shared personal experiences with each other regarding the deficiencies of the school assessment methodology and also talked about the importance of citizen participation in the law-making process.
