Mariam Kilanava is an Affiliate Associate Professor at European University. She holds a PhD in Translation Studies and leads the English as a Foreign Language courses. She works at the international students’ admission office and is a CPD trainer at European University. Mariam is a director of English as a Foreign Language center and the author of online professional courses. In 2019-2020 she was the head of the Innovative teaching training center at European University. She is actively involved in the process of creating, moderating and conducting the training sessions for the university academic staff. Currently, she is leading the training modules on innovative teaching and assessing methods at HEIs as a trainer. She is an active member of the international association IATEFL and regularly presents European University at different international conferences. Mariam is the ERASMUS+ Handbook chapter author and intensively publishes the articles relevant to Linguistics and CPD at HEIs.
In 2019-2020 she was the member of ERASMUS+ program – CURE (Cure is a multi-faced program for curricular reform that aims to improve the level of curriculum for Civic Education and Principles of Democracy in teacher-training programs). Within the project she worked on the topic of implementing civic education aspects in EFL classes and successfully presented at the international conference. Mariam Kilanava has experience of working with ethnic and language minorities in terms of teaching them foreign language at American Councils and different universities. She holds various Certificates in CPD and her main research interests are innovative teaching methods and continuous professional development.
